Wikipedia defines clearinghouse as “an institution that collects and distributes information.”
TheGreenEventsCalendar.org is the foundation for a much greater effort currently under construction: GreenInformationClearinghouse.org. GreenInformationClearinghouse.org is a 32 page web based information resource for all things green. Whether looking for green products, jobs, certification programs, recycling, transportation and a whole lot more, including Evil Doers, you'll be able to find it quickly and easily without sifting through a lot of advertising clutter. As pages are completed, they will be published and we'll notify you so that you can stay abreast of all that's new in Our New Green America. Stay strong. Stay the course. And thanks for all that you do to save Planet Earth. Here at GIC, we have consetructed a framework to collect and distribute information regarding all things green, a “go to” web site for the environmental and social responsibility movements. Please submit your ideas, thoughts, and recommendations for inclusion on the site. On a personal note; the effort of searching the web for sites to send my visitors has left me humbled. There are some really bright and energetic people out there who are doing a great job; I hope my efforts can further their individual and collective causes.
Mission Statement
GreenInformationClearinghouse.org (GIC) is a guide or portal to all things green. Saving Planet Earth is our mission. We have searched the web for all information imaginable relative to global warming and how we can be environmentally responsible through our buying habits, voting habits, consuming habits, working habits, investment and living habits. By definition, habits are learned, so we can learn new ones. Let’s get started.
Goal
We want to make green information easily and readily available to everyone. This site is interactive, allowing visitors to make corrections and additions which will be recognized in the monthly newsletter, "The Green Expositor.” GIC’s executive board will approve all changes. Suggestions relative to content, organization, key words, grammar, overlooked web sites and spelling are welcomed, even encouraged. To be useful, GIC must be timely and accurate, provide value to its readers, be interesting and be easy to navigate. Whether you are looking for green products, businesses, demonstrations, advocacy groups, events, or information on green building practices, water and energy conservation and products, green careers, food, transportation and articles, you'll find it here. If you don't, let us know and we'll evaluate your suggestions and consider adding them to the site. |
